Become a Junior Rancher in Montana!
If you are traveling to Montana this summer, you might consider a visit to the Grant-Kohrs National Historic Site. A working cattle ranch, Grant-Kohrs celebrates the life and legacy of the American cowboy and cattlemen. We visited this fabulous informative historic ranch about two years ago when we were driving home from Yellowstone National Park. We stopped en route and spent a couple hours touring the grounds, visiting the blacksmith shop, and talking to various docents and demonstrators on hand. We took some fabulous photos, but unfortunately we didn’t participate in the Junior Rancher program. My children have participated in many Junior Ranger programs but they’ve never participated in a Junior Rancher program. The Junior Rancher program at Grant-Kohrs is admittedly unique because it teaches children all about life on a ranch as the cowboys, the cattlemen, and their families knew it. For additional information on Grant-Kohrs and the Junior Rancher program, see their website.
