Cyber Monday Shopping
I have a confession. I went shopping on Cyber Monday…for just us! Oh, I did get some gifts for the grandkids but mainly got things for us.
That Monday was spent reading all the emails that were advertising Cyber Monday. I am NOT a Black Friday shopper. Not even a Grey Thursday shopper. Quite frankly, I didn’t even know there was a Grey Thursday until last week!
However, I’ve always done most of my shopping online so the Cyber Monday emails caught my eye. The other advantage of shopping online is that your purchases are delivered to your door or, in my case, my daughter’s door since we are fulltimers.
Side Note: I’ve done all my shopping online for the past several years for many reasons. It doesn’t matter if the weather is bad, I can shop in my jammies and my schlep-around slippers. With online shopping I’m treated nicely. No rude people. No crabby, tired sales people and no carts slamming into the back of me. And, I don’t buy unless I know I’m getting a deal. The beauty of having a computer is that you can check prices in a flash.
The “all about me” shopping started when I received Camping World’s multi-page flier in the mail. I started browsing through it, planning on looking at it later. But then, items began to catch my eye. Items that I’d been planning on shopping around for. So, I figured, why not now…on Cyber Monday!
First up were outdoor chairs. Camping World had sent a catalog a few weeks ago and I had noticed the chairs immediately. When their email arrived on Monday I knew it was fate! I knew that I wanted a chair with a table attached to it so that you don’t have to keep balancing glasses, plates, etc. in your lap. This chair fell within the right price range so I got two.
Side Note: I need to tell you that the chairs have arrived and they are really comfortable. It’s so nice to have a place to put your glass or dish and not do a balancing act. As a bonus there is, what I call, a side Kangaroo pocket for storing items like your phone, glasses, etc.
Next, I ordered this fitted table and bench covers for the tables that we use at different RV parks. I was pleased when they arrived tucked in their own bag.
Heads Up: For some reason I’ve had horrific experiences with our Corel dishes that I thought would be the answer to full-time RVing. Wrong! When the first dish fell to the floor we stared in amazement at the hundreds of glass shards everywhere. We thought it was a fluke. When it happened over and over, I was just plain mad.
The biggest surprise was when the Pilot was slicing an apple on a saucer with a ceramic knife and it cut the plate in half. Since that time I’ve been on a search for dishes.
So, when the Pottery Barn email arrived I dived in and ordered the dishes above. I’d been looking at them off and on for the past couple of months. I looked at Melamine but discovered that you can’t use them in the microwave. So, this lovely set will be on its way to us by end of January since they’re on back order.
I was exhausted at the end of the day. Not! I’m happy with my purchases because they were things we needed and I felt that I had saved some money. It was like Christmas for several days as these goodies arrived. I hope your Christmas shopping is as easy as mine was.
