Camping on the Fly: Good Sam Camping App

There is nothing as fun about RVing than driving off into the sunset to your next destination. Of course, that sunset sometimes goes down faster than you expect and it often results in making some last minute decisions. As convenient it is to boondock, if I had my choice I’d opt for the conveniences of an RV park. I’d also like one where I could use my Good Sam discount. Heading south from Yellowstone I perfectly expected to reach Las Vegas in one day. Maybe that was too optimistic. I’m not the speeding college student in the little Honda Civic I used to be. At some point in the middle of UT (aka the middle of nowhere) I realized that the sun was going to beat me to my destination. I also started to yawn….badly. My spouse started to “kindly” nudge me that maybe driving through... [Read more...]

Heading North? Make sure you set aside time to hit some of the spectacular golf courses in America’s upper latitudes, where sprawling fairways and beautiful greens rival the courses found in the Sunbelt. In Manistee, Michigan, the luxurious Little River Casino RV Park sits in proximity to some of the best courses in the Midwest. It’s no wonder that the region is often referred to among golfers as a “hidden gem.” Hit balls against a backdrop of 10,000-foot mountain peaks in Anaconda, Montana, where Fairmont RV Park and Campground serves as a great jumping-off point for duffers. Several fine golf courses await travelers looking to hit balls in the fresh mountain air.

Using your RV to attend a family reunion – yes it’s possible.

Three years of planning that finally arrived to reality over the past week-end.   We drove to Cobalt, ON in order to attend a family reunion of my mother-in-law side of the family.  Her mom – my husband’s grand-mother and my kids’ great-grand-mother – is the pillar of the family nowadays.   Nevertheless everyone in this family was present.    With over 13 children and their spouses, the grand-kids (36) and their spouses and great-grand-kids (52 to date) you can imagine that numerous people were present.   In all, there were approximately 150 people attending this family reunion.
